The scope of this product was to create a high volume bag intended for frequent travel. A hybrid of the travel duffle and the classic drawstring rucksack. My goal was to make material and construction decisions that provided a wide range of affordances that met the needs of the studio. This meant consideration for rock climbing approaches, offsite photoshoots, and impromptu flights.
MF9’s visual language is informed by utilitarian functionality, having references in industrial visual language. With that and the function of the bag in mind, I looked to technical and minimalist precedents to inform material and construction.
